I have to get this done, I have to behave this way, I have to complete this target, I have to look this way, I have to get this job, etc. etc.

This puts a lot of pressure on yourself to do things which you may or may not like. And then what happens?

You would do it out of pressure and not be able to put your heart in it, it would make you stress more, it would make you tired without reason, it will make you moody and irritated, make you hate your work and/or studies, won’t help you ways to think about certain things, and finally, make you hate yourself and your life.

Listen to your heart, listen to what it wants. Don’t keep on judging yourself on small small things. If you can’t do something today, you will do it tomorrow; if you look inappropriate, you will be in shape soon; if you are not able to focus, you will find ways to focus; if you are not able to achieve certain thing today, you will find a way to achieve it.

The key is not to decide what is good and bad based on seeing others progress or disruption. Because when you rate yourself based on other people’s lives, you will always be hard on yourself because ‘you’ are not ‘others’. You will have your own limitations and apprehensions and strengths and others will have different than yours. So if they are somewhere maybe you were not supposed to be there and that is exactly why you are at different place.

Reflect within yourself to what makes you happy and what can gain you maximum input and outcome. Make yourself your own competition and you will be happy, be a better person than you were yesterday and see that your life changes.

When you start focusing first on yourself then things will change within yourself and outside too. And when you become too hard on yourself, then you will be more unhappy than happy.
